Welcome back-
I hope you had a wonderful break.
A huge shout-out to our AHS custodians and facilities team, who spent the week deep-cleaning the student bathrooms and clearing the pipes. I hope students come back from break refreshed and ready to be respectful of school policy. Please continue to use eHallPass whenever a student leaves the room. A pass limit will set for all students, with a maximum number of passes per day, over the course of the week. Students will medical notes will be excused from the limit. We will have 3 of the 4 restrooms open this week to see how it goes. Math will be staying closed since the upstairs area is still an issue. We will keep only two open during the lunch block. Let us know if you have questions, and thank you so much for the consistency with passes.
I will be in PowerSchool training again this week on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am-12pm and on Wednesday from 9am-4pm.
Tuesday is the annual 5-Town Special Olympics. Athletes from all of our schools will be heading to Medway High School for the big event. Their bus will depart from the high school at 8:55 am, so we'd love to send them off in style. I will send specifics of the send-off later today. Let's line the halls and fill them with energy for their day!
Here is the cafeteria's May menu. Friday is School Lunch Hero Day. Take a minute to thank our kitchen staff who do an amazing job feeding all of our students and many staff members each day.
We are starting Teacher Appreciation Week a little early this year. The coffee truck will be visiting on Thursday. I'll share details and the order form when we get them.
I am guessing that Senior Assassin will be starting this week. If you are not familiar, there are many news stories about it. Seniors and their parents received a letter today, co-written by me and APD. This is not a school-sponsored activity and should not take place anywhere on APS school grounds, including after school hours. If you see any evidence of the game (aka water guns), please let us know in the office.
