Good morning-

I hope you stayed warm this weekend and enjoyed Jump for Joy and/or the StuCo Pancake Breakfast. I am sure many of you spent time grading. Thank you for your flexibility with the changes and challenges last week brought!

Your grades should be entered into iPass by Tuesday, February 3, at 8am. Please run a grade verification report and check that your Term 2 and midyear exam grades appear accurate. We will release grades to students/guardians at the end of the school day on Wednesday, February 4. 

Please take a minute to answer this question about midyear exam timing.

Your recommendations for the 2026-2027 school year should be completed by the end of the school day on Friday, February 6. Let us know if you have questions or need assistance. As in previous years, you should be recommending students for any classes you believe are appropriate. While it is certainly important that students understand the impact of the budget moving forward, they are only hearing, "My teacher told me I can't take a class I want next year." Please be thoughtful about what you tell students. I would be hesitant to say anything at this point, but it's evidently too late for me to say that...

Class meetings to discuss the 2026-2027 Course Registration timelines will be held the week of February 9 during X-block:
Class of 2027- Monday, February 9
Class of 2028- Wednesday, February 11
Class of 2029- Thursday, February 12

I know the conversations around the budget have been challenging. I ask that you refrain from gossip and speculation. If you can attend the meeting Superintendent Adams is hosting tomorrow night, that's great. If not, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I will do my best to answer questions. 

Just as an FYI, I will be out of the building on Friday.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms & mother figures out there- Best of luck to the special athletes competing in the 5-Town Special Olympics today!  I apologize for the late notice, but we will do a class meeting with the juniors/prom attendees on Tuesday, May 13, and the seniors on Wednesday, May 14, during x-block. Please send your second block seniors to the auditorium, as we are not able to make announcements on 5/14.  Art Saves Ashland, which includes the student art show, as well as the Spring Choral Concert, are happening back to back on Thursday, May 15, starting at 4pm.  The concert is at 7pm in the auditorium. These events showcase the amazing talent of many of our students.  Here is the Early Release schedule for Friday, May 16. You can also find it linked on the school calendar. Good morning- As we wrap up Term 2, please take a moment to remind students of the mid-year exam expectations .  I hope to have the 2026-2027 Program of Studies posted and shared with the community by the end of the week. Thank you for all of the work you did updating it for the coming school year. I am excited by the proposed new classes, and I am sure students will be as well.  The schedule for our day on Friday is as follows: 8:00-9:30 am- UDL Refresher: All staff (unless assigned elsewhere)- AHS library     ESPs - DLL     School counselors, school psychologists, and adjustment counselors - MPY online PD     Nurses - meet as a department     Speech/OT - meet with Britt     EL - meet with Christy  9:30-11:45 am- Department curriculum work as assigned by liaison     10:30-11:45 am- English, math, & sped vertical meetings w/grade 8 & 9 teachers If I have forgotten anyone or you have any questions, do...
