Good morning-
Congratulations to the cast and crew of AHSTS on another fantastic performance!
I am sure many of you saw the posting for a short-term substitute for math. Mike Shennett will be out for personal reasons for an undetermined amount of time. I do ask that everyone respect his privacy and not engage in conversation with students regarding his absence. I know we are all wishing him the very best.
The Red Cross club is hosting a blood drive this Wednesday, March 5. The club will send details on students who are donating and volunteering. There are still spots available for anyone wishing to donate blood.
In recognition of Women's History Month, DAET, with the Department of Prevention and Human Services, will host a Menstrual Product Drive to support individuals who may have difficulties affording essential menstrual products.
Period poverty is the inability or difficulty to access menstrual products, such as pads, tampons, and menstrual cups, due to financial constraints. Millions of people in the United States are affected, with 1 in 4 teens and 1 in 3 adults struggling to afford period products, especially teens of color and individuals in lower-income households (Think & PERIOD, 2023).
Join us as we work together to provide high-quality menstrual products to people in our Ashland community! Please consider donating unopened packages of pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and other menstrual hygiene products. Donation boxes will be located at Ashland High School, Town Hall, and the Community Center all March long. All proceeds will be directly donated to the Ashland Food Pantry.
An Ashland parent is coordinating an Ashland Day event with the Worcester Railers. This is a great opportunity for all Ashland families and staff to attend a game, with the discount from the Worcester Railer tickets are only $20 each. All students will have the opportunity to go down to the player's tunnel to meet the players and do a "high five tunnel" as they enter the rink.
