Happy April!

I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. This is a quiet week but things are gearing up as we head towards the end of the year.

Thanks for your support during the craziness of MCAS and the seal of biliteracy testing as well as the junior/senior speaker. If you attended Stephen Hill's presentation and would like to share your thoughts/impressions, he would love to hear them. I will send him a few quotes this week. I am told the students were amazing and his message was well received.

Term 3 ends next Wednesday, April 9. Please reach out to parents/caregivers as well as the counselor if you have a student you are worried. This is essential with any seniors. We are monitoring those that might be in danger of not graduating closely.

Today, I will meet with approximately 50 students who were randomly selected to take the PISA2025 next Thursday, April 10. The list is a combination of 9th and 10 graders as the pool was any student born in 2009. You will have the final list of students participating early next week. The assessment will take the first three periods of the day.

Planning ahead, we have back-to-back meetings this month. The faculty meeting is on April 10, and department meetings are on April 17. I will be out of the building on a NEASC visit from April 14-16. Liaisons, we will not have a meeting on April 15.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
