Good morning- I hope exams are going well. As you saw in the email from Jess, the grading window is open. It will remain open until Monday, February 3 at 8:20am. Please do your best to include comments and check if your student needs translated comments. The comments list is attached here. Starting Wednesday, January 29, members of the Student Council will do the Pledge of Allegiance with the entire school at the beginning of 2nd period. Students will make an announcement for all members of the school community to rise and recite the Pledge. A message from the PTO: Please join us for the 2025 Clocker Classic! Good morning- I hope you had a nice long weekend and are ready for the end of Term 2/Semester 1. I am sure today will be a celebratory day for some and a difficult day for others. Please keep a watchful eye for any students who might need support or redirection. Our job is to create a community that is safe and welcoming for all of our students and staff. Please make sure to schedule the x-block for the following week by the Friday of the week before.  We are excited to welcome t he 8th grade to AHS on Friday, January 24, for Step-up Day. They will gather in the auditorium around 1:15pm with tours starting at 1:30pm. Please have your doors open if you are willing to allow the students to stop by your classroom. As always, feel free to share a little about your courses and answer any student questions. The peer leaders and an AHS staff member will be with each group and do a great job explaining each department. Please continue to remind students of midyear exam expectations. H...

Good morning- As we start the last full week of Term 2/Semester 1 please make sure you are sharing your midyear exam expectations with students. Exams should be administered during the scheduled time.  We have sent out expectations but if you could help remind students that they need to be in the cafeteria or the library if they are in school outside of scheduled exams, that would be great. Remind students they must be present or have an excused absence if they need to miss an exam. Students should speak to their Dean if they have a question about attendance during an exam. If you have students who are struggling please make sure you are reaching out to parents/guardians as well as the students' counselor. Next weekend is a district Family Reconnect Weekend. Students should not have any homework, outside of preparing for exams. No activities should be scheduled from Saturday, January 18, through Monday, January 20, after 2:30pm.  As an FYI the SBIRT (Screening, Brief Interven...

Welcome back! I hope your break was restful and you are ready to head into 2025 energized for the rest of semester 2. We have a faculty meeting scheduled for this Thursday, January 9 at 2:50pm in the library. We will have a presentation from the Tourette's Association on best practices for working with and supporting students with Tourette's.  We are 2 1/2 weeks from midyear exams. Please make sure you share your exam expectations with your classes as well as how students can access you for assistance during the week. You should plan to be available for students during the period you normally have a class scheduled, following the modified schedule. As a reminder, here is the  exam schedule .  Recently, at a Site Council meeting, we were reminded of the expectation to recite the Pledge of Allegiance daily at the start of the school day. We have been remiss in doing this for some time. While we work on a schoolwide implementation of saying the pledge, I ask that you start t...
