Good morning-
I hope you had a nice long weekend and are ready for the end of Term 2/Semester 1. I am sure today will be a celebratory day for some and a difficult day for others. Please keep a watchful eye for any students who might need support or redirection. Our job is to create a community that is safe and welcoming for all of our students and staff.
Please make sure to schedule the x-block for the following week by the Friday of the week before.
We are excited to welcome the 8th grade to AHS on Friday, January 24, for Step-up Day. They will gather in the auditorium around 1:15pm with tours starting at 1:30pm. Please have your doors open if you are willing to allow the students to stop by your classroom. As always, feel free to share a little about your courses and answer any student questions. The peer leaders and an AHS staff member will be with each group and do a great job explaining each department.
Please continue to remind students of midyear exam expectations. Here is the exam schedule. Students are expected to remain in your room for the entire 90 minutes.
Grades will close on Tuesday, January 28, and the grading window will be open until Monday, February 3, at 8:20am. As you enter grades please make sure you are including comments and check if they are needed in a different language.
It's hard to believe but it is time to start course selection for the 2025-2026 school year. The window for you to make recommendations will be open this morning and will be open from today, January 21 through February 7. You can find a refresher on how to select courses for your students linked here:
Teachers make course recommendations (ALL teachers must have conversations with students to the best extent possible and make recommendations for all of your classes.)
