Happy Easter to all who celebrate- Thanks to all for your help with MCAS and the seal of biliteracy testing last week.  Erin, Meaghan and I will be at DESE on Tuesday, April 2 for the DESE HS Scheduling Network meeting. Dr. Caira and other central office administrators will work from our building and will be available if needed.  A reminder Term 3 ends on Friday. Please make sure your grades have been updated in iPass. The grading window will open at 3pm on Friday, April 5 and close on Thursday, April 11 at 8:20am.  Next week (4/8 - 4/12), the Student Council will be running our "Teacher Appreciation Day Cards" activity during X-blocks.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered to host a writing event (Josh and Erika have already been in touch with you regarding this.)  On Wednesday, April 3rd during X-block, could you please take 2 minutes to show a video to promote this activity?  You'll get the link in an email from Erika and Josh Wednesday morning. ...

Good morning- Thank you to all who hosted the Japanese students on Friday. It was enjoyable to have them in the building. Our students learned a lot and made some nice connections.  This is a busy short week with MCAS and seal of biliteracy testing. Remember we will not have x-block or break on Tuesday and Wednesday. Do not mark students who are testing   absent . MCAS & seal of biliteracy reminders: Please take a look at the  ELA MCAS Proctor Assignments and Room Relocations  and let me know if you see any issues as soon as possible. Testing will be on Tuesday, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th. We are also conducting the Seal of Biliteracy testing at the same time. If you'd like to review the proctor script ahead of time you can find it  here . Additionally, if you are proctoring but have some non-10th grade students in your class that period, please   list them here on the library sheet  so that Marybeth knows who to expect. ...

Happy St. Patrick's Day- Following up on the discussion at the JED training I wanted to share the highlight report from the 2021 Metrowest Adolescent Health Survey. It shows our numbers for students who seriously considered suicide as well as many other data points. While the number of students considering suicide is not as high as the national average shared by the JED team, it is a number that has written. I anticipate we will be receiving the numbers for the 2023 survey soon.  We will host our Japanese exchange students on Thursday, March 21. I will send the list of host students on Tuesday. Please let me know if you are interested in attending their presentation on their home, culture and school during the last block of the day (G block). They will present in the auditorium. Hope to see you at the  AHS National Honor Society Talent Show !

Good morning- I hope you had a nice weekend. This message was shared with students this morning:  We recognize Ramadan, which began last evening, as a month-long observance by Muslims worldwide, marked by spiritual reflection and worship. For students who observe Ramadan and may be fasting, we want to offer you a space during your lunch period to be away from the cafeteria. The library and distance learning lab has been reserved for you for reflection and prayer throughout the month. The DLL is the room off the library.  If you have 2nd lunch the counseling office or main office conference rooms will be open as a space for you. As always, please reach out to your counselor or administrator with any questions or concerns or if you need to access quiet space at additional times during the day. We wish a safe, happy, and generous Ramadan to all members of our community who observe the holiday. Please remember to close your classroom door when you are out of the cla...

Good morning- I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend. It was nice to have some warm weather. Kudos to David Harrington and all of AHSTS on a wonderful winter production of Chicago. It was a great show!  Another congratulations to our boy's hockey team. They beat Marth's Vineyard Sunday and are advancing to the Super 8 More information to follow! Check that you have X-block activities scheduled and remind students to choose their activities. We will have a few visitors in the building today as part of the Year 2/3 Mentor program. Thank you to the teachers who are welcoming them to your classes. I will be making a few last minutes adjustments based on absences and testing needs. Please make sure to review MCAS Retest information that was shared by Meaghan last week. Students will be testing in English on Monday and Wednesday and math on Thursday and Friday.  Finally, the parent window for course recommendations has opened.
