Good morning-

I hope you had a nice weekend.

This message was shared with students this morning:

We recognize Ramadan, which began last evening, as a month-long observance by Muslims worldwide, marked by spiritual reflection and worship. For students who observe Ramadan and may be fasting, we want to offer you a space during your lunch period to be away from the cafeteria. The library and distance learning lab has been reserved for you for reflection and prayer throughout the month. The DLL is the room off the library.  If you have 2nd lunch the counseling office or main office conference rooms will be open as a space for you. As always, please reach out to your counselor or administrator with any questions or concerns or if you need to access quiet space at additional times during the day. We wish a safe, happy, and generous Ramadan to all members of our community who observe the holiday.

Please remember to close your classroom door when you are out of the classroom and at the end of the day. We have had an increase in students being in unsupervised spaces during and after the school day.

Our faculty meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14. We will meet in the library at 2:50pm. We will discuss lessons from the drills we completed recently. If you have any agenda items, please let me know.

Friday our professional development will be delivered by JED High School. We have been working with JED for the past two years analyzing our social-emotional programming. They will provide the staff portion of their training on Friday, called You Can Help. I will send the Zoom link later in the week. Our time together is scheduled from 1:05-2:45pm.

On March 21 we will once again be welcoming students from the Toshimagoaka High School in Japan. This year we welcome 28 young women. We have over 90 volunteers at this point and will do a lottery this week, with an effort to spread the visitors out among classes. The Japanese student will attend all classes, lunch, etc. with their host. They will do a presentation about their school and culture during the last block of the day (G period) in the auditorium. Classes will be welcome to attend. All hosts and volunteers who were not chosen will be invited to attend the presentation as well.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
