Good morning-

Thank you to all who hosted the Japanese students on Friday. It was enjoyable to have them in the building. Our students learned a lot and made some nice connections.

This is a busy short week with MCAS and seal of biliteracy testing. Remember we will not have x-block or break on Tuesday and Wednesday. Do not mark students who are testing absent.

MCAS & seal of biliteracy reminders:
Please take a look at the ELA MCAS Proctor Assignments and Room Relocations and let me know if you see any issues as soon as possible. Testing will be on Tuesday, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th. We are also conducting the Seal of Biliteracy testing at the same time. If you'd like to review the proctor script ahead of time you can find it here. Additionally, if you are proctoring but have some non-10th grade students in your class that period, please list them here on the library sheet so that Marybeth knows who to expect.

As always, please reach out with any questions. The sign-off sheet for MCAS training is with Linda in the main office.

The following students are scheduled to test for the seal of biliteracy: seal of biliteracy test takers

This weekend is a Family Reconnect Weekend.
Teachers will make Family Reconnect Weekends a success by planning around these dates in advance, so we can make certain students have the option of a stress-free weekend.
Teachers will follow the guidelines set below:
1. Ensuring that long-term assignments are not due the following week
2. Avoid an increase in student workload leading up to the reconnect weekend.
3. Not assigning any schoolwork over the weekend
4. Not scheduling tests and quizzes for the day after the reconnect weekend.
There will be NO practices or activities at AHS during these Family Reconnect Weekends.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
