Good evening- I hope you had a nice weekend. I know for many it was filled with grading and planning for the start of semester 2. The grading window will close on Wednesday afternoon at 3pm . Please remind students to check their schedules as semester courses and study halls have changed. Lunches remain the same. All teachers should be starting the process of course recommendations. The window will close for teachers on February 10. Please ask if you need assistance.  Last week I asked liaisons hold department discussions on how midyear exams are used to provide students feedback and inform your curriculum. Some liaisons have shared notes from the department discussion but we would love to hear from you how you will review exams with students and help them to be reflective learners. Feel free to invite your evaluator by this week to see how you share feedback with students.  Friday is the second annua  Flag Day ceremony . It will be held in the gym during the X-block time...

Good morning all- I hope you had a great first week of 2023.  Faculty meeting is Thursday at 2:55pm in the library.  This coming weekend is Family Reconnect Weekend. Here is a reminder of expectations: 1. Ensure that long-term assignments are not due the following week (January 18-20). 2. Avoid an increase in student workload leading up to the reconnect weekend. 3. Do not assign any schoolwork over the weekend 4. Do not schedule tests and quizzes for the day after the reconnect weekend (no tests/quizzes Wednesday, January 18).   I am sure many students may start using the time to prep for midyear exams so this could be a good week to share study guides.  Here is the 2023 Midyear exam schedule . Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful break with a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends.  We are almost halfway there. I will share the midyear exam schedule later this week once liaisons provide some feedback. I will plan to share it with students and guardians on Friday. There is no X-block today, Tuesday, January 3. Please instruct students to spend this time signing up for activities for the week. Remind them the semester comes to an end in less than 3 weeks! Please welcome some new staff members to the AHS family! Will Viti starts today in the history department. He is a certified history teacher who will be teaching psychology. Elizabeth Darling will be starting sometime in the next week with the EL department as an ESP.  We saw an uptick in staff illness/absences before break that I anticipate will continue into the new year. A few reminders regarding absences: 1. Please make sure to include your plans in your request. It can be as simple as sayin...
