Good evening and Shanah Tovah to all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah- Thank you for helping to make this past spirit week a success! I am always impressed with the work done by Student Council to make this a great celebration of school spirit. It was great to see the faculty participation in the fun. We will have X-block Tuesday-Friday next week even though we do not have school on Monday.  Make sure your activities are scheduled for the week and remind students Tuesday morning to check their schedules. A reminder that your self-assessment and goals should be shared with your evaluator by Friday, September 30. Please complete this survey regarding classroom safety needs .  Make sure you are entering grades on a consistent basis, at least every two weeks, in iPass.  FYI- I will be out of the building for the day on Thursday, September 29.  For you planning purposes:  No school/ Yom Kippur- October 5 Family Reconnect Weekend- October 8-10 (no homework, activ...

Good evening- Please review MA law around hazing and complete the anti-hazing student group form with your club/activity/team as soon as possible. Forms should be turned into the front office by Thursday, September 29. Thank you for all your help to ensure we had a smooth start with X-block.  We have moved the cut off time to 9:45am in order to allow more time for teachers to add students, and to give extra time for students who might need a reminder to assign themselves.  We need it to be a team effort to get students to sign up for the week on Monday, and reminding students to check each morning.  Please remind students during 1st/2nd block attendance to check flextime manager to make sure they have an activity for that day.  Also, as a reminder if you want to "plus add" a student to your room from anything other than a study, please email the teacher you are pulling them from to ask if that is okay.   Remember to reach out to your evaluator ASAP to set ...

Good evening- I hope this Patriots Day finds you well. It's hard to believe it's been 21 years since the attacks on our nation. We will not do a moment of silence tomorrow during the school day but please let me know if you are doing anything to commemorate the anniversary in your classroom.  The slides from our recent faculty meetings and PD are all linked on the front page of this blog. Please refer to the Important memos & information page for the slides on Educator Evaluation. Thank you to Chad and Holly for your willingness to present to your colleagues on Thursday! As a reminder, if you have questions about the district style guide and expectations, please share them with me as soon as possible. We look forward to starting X-block activities this week. Please make sure you have entered activities for Tuesday through Friday. During the X-block time on Monday make sure all students in your class have time to choose their activities. Remind them to check their schedule e...
Good evening and Happy Labor Day! Congratulations to all of you on our Boston Magazine ranking. I am so proud of the work you do each day and the jump in ranking we had during this crazy time really speaks to what you do to keep moving students forward in the most challenging of times. This week we continue to work with students on understanding classroom and building expectations. I hope the start of the year has gone well, given you a chance to build relationships, and establish classroom norms. Please let us know if you need support!! Class meeting are scheduled for every day this week, starting with seniors. We have a lot to cover so I do anticipate each meeting will take some time from 3rd period. Thanks for supporting us as we review building expectations.  If you have not already done so, please make sure to review building evacuation plans with your students. A fire drill is coming! Let Linda know if you do not have an evacuation plan posted in your classroom.  Check y...
