Good morning- I hope you are all dug out and safe after the blizzard.  Grades close Wednesday, February 2 at 4pm. We will continue to have a minimum grade of 50 for Term 2 for full year courses.   If you have any student who earns below a 50 please enter a 50 into the Term 2 column. If you have a student who did no work at all please communicate with the counselor and Dean.  If you did not administer a midyear exam, leave the window blank. If you have a pass/fail course that is a half year course, make sure to enter the P/F in the final grade column as well.  Please let me know if you have any questions. Course registration for the 2022-2023 school year begins today. Teachers have until February break to complete recommendations.  Happy Monday- I hope you had a good weekend and that exam week goes well for you. I want to once again commend the department liaisons for putting together a thoughtful approach to midyear exams. I have attached the document here and it includes the midyear schedule: AHS midyear exams Teachers are asked to be accessible/in your rooms at the beginning of each period outside of the exams in the event that students have stayed in the building to meet with you.  The 8th grade will be stepping up to AHS on Tuesday, January 25. Good morning- I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. I appreciate all of the work you did on Friday with your departments and with the ADL training. Your conversations around exams, their purpose, and how to best support students have been thoughtful and student centered. I will put a document out to you and the student community later today that shares a summary of the intent of exams and AHS expectations. I am looking forward to having the Peer Leaders trained by the ADL sometime in March and bringing the World of Difference curriculum to AHS.  Challenge Day - Please volunteer to participate in this important day. Challenge Day is one of the opportunities we have to show our students that relationships matter. All staff are welcome to participate. Please remember to change your absence status to NO SUB NEEDED when asking for only a short time off. Thank you. The shortage of toner for our printers will be an ongoing situation. Please be thoughtful of your individual use. This i...

Good evening- As a reminder there will be no X-block on Monday, January 10 so we can complete the Flag survey, yearbook superlatives and have students schedule themselves for the week. Please encourage students to sign-up to see you as we prepare for mid-term exams.  Midyear exams:  I  hope you have had some good conversation about mid-term exams as a department or plan to do so this week. As I shared with liaisons last week, I have concerns about students being prepared for exams if they have an extended absence in the next couple of weeks. I am also concerned for teachers. If you have a large number of students who are out and need to earn incompletes this will be an added burden. I would like to finalize our approach at the end of the week. Some thoughts shared by liaisons were to waive the exam for students who are absent in the next few weeks or during exam week (for legitimate illness reasons) as well as averaging the exam score with other test scores or dropping th...
