 Good morning all-

As you know we will remain in full remote for the remainder of the calendar year.

Attached the AHS Hybrid/Remote Learning Expectations here as a reminder. Remind students if you have not had a chance that the Wednesday schedule stays the same with 2 hours of synchronous meetings followed by asynchronous assignments. This can be an opportunity to bring your cohorts together but as Jim mentioned in his email this is not a requirement. You should meet with your students synchronously each class period at least at the beginning and the end of the period, as referenced in the Expectations. I do encourage you to work in time off the computer as well, both for you and the students. I am hearing from some that they are experiencing some serious screen time fatigue. Many of our students are in class from 8:30-2:55 with only a lunch break. This is a lot of computer time.

The building will continue to be open every day except Wednesday and you are more than welcome to teach from your classroom. Please remember that if you are arranging with students to get materials you need to be in the building to put them out and then retrieve any that were not picked up at the end of the day.

I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow for testing. Please remember to stay home if you are not feeling well.

A reminder that Faculty Meeting is moved to next Thursday, both to accommodate tomorrow's testing schedule and for NEASC wrap-up. You should have received the calendar invitation last evening.

Thank you again to all those who have been assisting with the NEASC process, especially Marybeth. Our visit is happening so we need you to send your classroom meeting links ASAP to Marybeth. The visiting team will spend Monday and sometime Tuesday morning popping into classes. They are all educators, they know what we are dealing with. Please welcome them warmly.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....
