Good afternoon/evening- I hope you all had a great weekend. I had the pleasure of enjoying fall sports It was great to be up on the turf, cheering on our student athletes. I just keep thinking "I hope we can keep doing this for a while".  I had a couple of different conversations with staff that are new to our building over the past week as well as parents who work in different settings and all of the conversation focused on how great our kids are in terms of following expectations. I hope you agree. I know I couldn't be more proud of where we are at as we head into the last week of October.  My only focus this week is to ask "how you are doing?". So many of you have expressed how stressful this is. I understand and want to know how can I support you. Please complete the attached Faculty/staff survey  at your convenience. Happy Monday to you all.

Good evening all- For the past 15 years I have been impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the faculty and staff I work with at AHS. This week made me think "these people are truly amazing". I know you are all working so hard and probably feeling very underappreciated. Please know how grateful I am for each and every one of you. You are an amazing team.  I am excited to welcome students back tomorrow. Please be conscious of student commentary on the closure in your classes. Some of our students involved in the reason for the closure are struggling with guilt and comments from peers should be stopped and reported if inappropriate. I would like to reiterate that you will not be contacted if you have not been in any contact with a student that is positive. The attendance emails sent by nursing are not meant to be cryptic, they are necessary to respect the privacy of students while giving you an idea of how long the student will be out. Please understand that if yo...

Good evening- I hope you had a restful weekend. If you have seen Jim's email you are aware AHS and AMS students will be remote this week. The building will be open to faculty and staff during regular teaching days (Wednesday is still a closed day.)  Per the MOU, you can make the decision about working from the school or home. We will have everyone sign in and out if you are in the building so we know who is in the building in the event of an emergency.  I am going to add the following information to the AHS Hybrid/Remote Learning Expectations (pending any feedback). This is information that was discussed by the reopening team but not shared in the document. P lease review and let me know if you have questions. As Jim said, this is a great opportunity to have 4 days of synchronous learning for all but I understand some of you aren't ready to jump in there. It's also a chance to get a little more instructional time since mask breaks won't be needed, but please set expecta...

Three weeks down! It feels like three months and it feels great to keep doing it. I hope you are all hanging in there. I did something I have not done in about 20 years this weekend and will say it was rejuvenating. I recommend trying something new or different during this crazy time. We need to mix it up. You all have been mixing it up with your teaching and I have been so impressed.  Please welcome Matt Banks to the staff tomorrow. He will sub for the English department and for other needs this year. Term 1 will end on November 13. Please remember your professional obligation to keep grades updated and to reach out to students and parents if you are concerned. October 22nd is Back to School Night. I have decided we will do this as remote evening. I ask that you each film an introduction of yourself and as well as a information about each class you teach. I will share a document you can link each video to and parents can view at their leisure. I will share a Faculty meeting ...
