Good evening- I hope you enjoyed a lovely long weekend and a good holy day for those of you that observe Yom Kippur. Voting for faculty meeting will occur this week. Chas will send something out. The expectation will be that all faculty members are in the building for meetings. You will vote for before (7:15am) or after (3pm) meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Please remember to update iPass at least every two weeks. The window to see grades was opened to students and parents at the end of last week since we have completed two weeks of school. All faculty should have at least one grade entered for students. Thank you for your continued efforts to take attendance each class period. It is important we track students when they are both in the building as well as remote.  I will be looking for feedback on the need for students to receive extra help or review due to absences and how you are meeting that need. I am sure this will be a challenge this year and I would like to...

Good evening- I hope you all had a restful weekend and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. You deserved it after a great first week. I am grateful for the feedback and to hear from many of you that the week with students helped to ease your anxiety. I feel the same way. We have a lot of work to do in order to get hybrid learning right but we are all on the right track and doing a great job. I saw some fantastic examples of teaching, learning, and supporting students this week. Keep it up! A few things I noticed during mask breaks. Please remind students not to share food and to be sitting at least 6 feet apart if you are stationary. The Ashland community has been informed that school grounds are off limits during school hours so please don't hesitate to tell someone that or ask one of us to come out.  Please review evacuation protocols with your classes first thing Monday morning. Remember you do not need to follow one way hallways in the event of an emergency. The class shou...

Good afternoon- I hope you had a great day of professional development, planning, and meeting as departments. I appreciate the collegiality I have seen through all of this. I hope you were able to share ideas and strategies. You are all doing great things!  I am looking forward to our 2nd first day of school tomorrow. It will be great to welcome back our L-Z students.  A few reminders as we adjust to our new norms: 1. When you head outside for a mask break, please don't prop any doors open. Check that doors are closed securely when leaving the building. 2. Teachers should walk at the end of the group during the mask break so you can monitor their behavior. Please remind students to social distance when outside. When returning to the building you should wait for each student to put their mask on and hand sanitize when returning to the building. Please stand where you can see the door and make sure each student is doing this. 3. If you are going outside for a class please ...

Happy Sunday evening! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am sure there is a lot of nervous energy tonight but I feel confident in us all as a team. We will do this together as a team, supporting one another. If I don't see you in the morning please know I wish you all the best. Call the office or text me with anything you need.  Anyone who needs a working fob should head to the IT office tomorrow to get one. Their office is on the back left side of the middle school.  As you get ready to review expectations with students tomorrow please take a moment to ask them all to log-on to eHallpass. Have them use their Chromebooks. Remember when you and the students get to the log-in page you do not type an email address and password. Just click on the red Google button (twice). We will be around to trouble shoot. I believe I have the settings ready to go to limit bathroom passes to 3 at a time for each location. Instruct students they must choose the bathroom in the hall ...

Good afternoon- Thank you to all of the work you have done during the past 10 days. I appreciate everything you are doing and your commitment to making this work for our students. Your creativity and passion for what you do is commendable and students are so excited to see you.  At the risk of sounding like a broken record, please give students and more importantly yourselves, the opportunity to get back into this slowly. As has been said many times, flexibility is key.  Masks are in your mailboxes. They are in labeled baggies. If you would like the baggie refilled weekly, please return them to the front office by Friday morning each week.  Please let me know if there are other items you need.
