Good eveing- Happy Rosh Hashanah to all those who celebrate.  As you plan for the coming weeks I will ask that you are extremely thoughtful of next week's religious observance.  Homework should not be assigned on Tuesday, October 8 and there should not be any assessments scheduled for Thursday, October 10.  The following weekend if our first Family Reconnect Weekend. Please review the expectations for this weekend as well.  Thanks for your due diligence and support with the "stay in place" last week. As we walked around checking on things we appreciated how you were all following protocol.  We noted a few things to remember below. A few requests/reminders regarding Stay in Place protocols: Please check external doors if you are nearby to make sure they are shut and secure.  Classroom doors should also be shut.  In recent conversations with APD they have asked that you not have your doors/windows 100% covered.  There should be some ability to see ...

Happy Sunday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It was great to see many of you at Ashland Day!  I hope your groups all did well sharing their message and/or raising some funds. I thought I shared this article a few weeks back and realized tonight that I never did.  Kudos to all of you for the part you play in making AHS a great school! Monday is picture day. Please make sure to get your picture taken as it is needed for you ID.  We will start with freshmen when Grynn & Barrett is ready and go up from there. Departments are scheduled to meet this week.  Every meeting this year should be focused on curriculum work (liaisons have meeting guide/focus questions). This is a Priority Area of Concern that NEASC will look at when they come this spring (the language from the report is shared below). They will look to see that we have made growth and I believe we have.  Keep up the great work you are doing. Foundational Element 2.2a - Student Learning N...

Good afternoon and happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather or you enjoyed the Pats game...or both! I had a great ride on the Milford Upper Charles bike trail this afternoon. Making the most of my different living situation. :) Thanks to those of you who have sent a "what if?" email this week and quickly volunteered to play with the e-HallPass system. Here is the link to e-hallpass log-in.   I didn't include a question on the survey below about who wants to try out the system over the next couple of weeks, before we all go live, since so many of you already volunteered.  Spend until September 27th trying it out and getting to the know the features.  We will send a follow up survey then.  I would recommend showing students the Accessing the System video to start.  I have been playing with the app and have not been able to log-in. Once I hear from our support person I will send an update.  Students (and teachers) can find it in the App...

Good evening- I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I was exhausted so I can't imagine how you all felt on Friday.  Thanks again for making it a great first week of school.  The positive energy and enthusiasm was amazing, such a great way to start.  A few reminders and important information follows as we head into week 2: The senior class will be meeting with Josten's at 10:30am tomorrow (Monday) morning for their cap & gown order.  We apologize we could not fit this in to the class meetings on Friday but it was just not possible.   We are lucky to have three amazing nurses working with us this year.  Please use the email address AHS_nurses@ashland.k12.ma.us for your communication with them.  This will help facilitate communication efficiently. The same goes for the front office.  You can reach both Linda and Lindsay by emailing AHSmainoffice@ashland.k12.ma.us.  And always remember to call 0 if you need someone or something urgen...

Good evening/morning- I hope this first day of school is fantastic.  I am beyond excited to kick off the year with such a great group of colleagues.  I thank you for your enthusiasm, participation, and conversation last week during PD. It is clear to me that we are ready to make an impact on AHS students each and every day this year. I look forward to seeing lots of relationship building tomorrow as we visit classrooms.  Email me any great ideas or activities you did with students so we can pass them along! #1st3days The Importance of Teaching Behaviors Big Impact from the Smallest Interactions In case you missed it Boston Magazine published their list of " Best Public High Schools in Boston " last week.  I am proud of where we stand on this list and the amazing work we have accomplished. We continue to grow as a community of learners, pushing each other and most importantly the students.    As a reminder we will have a brief homeroom to hand out schedules....
