Good morning- Thanks to all who helped create a successful Homecoming Week, especially Josh Wiczer and Natalie Mazzini. The homecoming dance was a huge success, and we are grateful to the many volunteers who made it a safe and fun night for the students.  Tuesday is a make-up day for pictures. We will call students alphabetically. The photographer will set up in B11, the English small group room. If you did not have a picture taken on regular picture day, please make sure to get one on Tuesday. If students ask, they all need a picture for ID purposes.  This week, all students will stay in second period on Tuesday to view a training video on the Say Something program. This program provides school districts with a no-cost, anonymous reporting system designed to keep schools safe through the Sandy Hook Promise organization. You have received a separate email with the link to the video. Please do not show the video until the end of the second period on Tuesday.  We are await...

Good morning- Thank you to all who supported the PSAT/Community Service/Future Plans day. A very special thanks to Sue Reap for the immense amount of work in organizing community service opportunities. This is an important opportunity for students to learn about giving back, and I heard from many about the connections you made with students. Kudos to Cory McGann on a well-run PSAT as well.  We will not have X-block on Tuesday, October 28, so that all students can view the Say Something student training video. Students will remain in their 2nd-period class that day, and we will ask that each of you show a 16-minute video provided by Sandy Hook Promise. Directions for this task will be sent in a separate email. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.  Picture retake day is also scheduled for Tuesday, October 28. If you did not get your picture taken on the original day, please make plans to have it taken during the retakes.  We will have a stay-in-place/medi...

Good morning- I hope you stayed dry over the past couple of days of rain!  Thank you again for your attention during the PD sessions on Thursday and Friday. I have shared the slides from Friday here.  Supporting Neurodivergence in the classroom I am looking forward to Wednesday, the PSAT/Community Service/Future Plans Day. I can not thank Sue Reap enough for the work she has put into this. We have built some wonderful community connections, and I am excited to see the work our students complete. The spreadsheet of staff assignments is shared here .  Please verify that you are listed. I have not included the English department and any staff member I am already aware will be absent.  I am resharing the links Jim e-mailed earlier this week. If you are looking for accurate letterhead, logos, etc., please use the OUR BRAND folder, which can be accessed by anyone in the drive. Good morning- I hope everyone involved has recovered from Ashland Day. I am glad to hear it was such a success! A reminder that we have a faculty meeting on Thursday. We will start at 2:55pm in the library. Parents4Peace  will provide professional development on recognizing and responding to concerns around extremism.  Friday, October 10, is a PD day. We will start at 12:45pm and end at 2:25pm. The focus of our PD will be on working with students with autism and a continuation of our MTSS work. Please take a moment to share any questions you have about best practices for working with a student with autism.   Both meetings will be offered for PDPs. Please complete this  brief survey  regarding October 15. The Safety Committee will be meeting at AHS this year. Our first meeting is Thursday, October 9. I just want to let you know that you may see several safety personnel in the building.
