Good morning-

Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful April break!

If you have not done so, please schedule your x-block activities ASAP.

Welcome back to our Costa Rican travelers. As a reminder, we have students and staff still in Europe. They fly home this evening and will return to school tomorrow. I am looking forward to hearing about the many adventures.

Please take a minute to review the Educator Evaluation information. Evidence is due to your evaluator on Friday, May 2.

It's hard to believe the Class of 2025 only has 20 days of regular classes left. If you have a senior you are worried about passing your class, please discuss your concerns with the student and their parent as soon as possible. You should also notify me, the Dean, and the counselor about your concern. Thank you!

Exam schedules:
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Class of 2025 Senior Week/Graduation Information: Dates and times for end-of-the-year activities for seniors can be found here and will be updated as we get closer. I hope you will consider joining some of the festivities! AHS staff are encouraged to attend the senior banquet on June 3 from 6-8pm in the cafeteria and the graduation ceremony on Friday, June 6 at 6pm.

ALICE/trauma-informed safety walks: A huge thanks to the AHS English teachers, who include English, Special Education, and English Language Learner teachers, for making sure all of the students in our building know where our rally points are in the event of an emergency. They have walked, or will walk this week, each class to the cemetery and the base of Nikki Terrace. This letter was sent to families, informing them of the walks prior to break. All students in the district participated in this activity.

As an FYI, the Ashland Police are hosting training on May 1. A few officers may park in our lots if there is a need for overflow parking.

Attached are the May Nutrition news and menu. This Friday is School Lunch Hero Day. Please take a moment to thank our cafeteria staff for everything they do!

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
