Good morning-
I hope the end of term 3 went well. I know you are all looking forward to the April break. A reminder that the grading window will close on Thursday, April 11 at 8:20am. Please reach out to counselors and Deans if you are considering an Incomplete grade for any student.
I am attaching the Comment Code document here. If you have a student with a parent/guardian who needs translation please use the Portuguese/Spanish comments that have been created. We will work to clean this list up during department time next month.
Erin and Meaghan are out of the building at the MSAA Assistant Principal's Conference today (Monday, April 8).
A reminder that there is no school on Wednesday, April 10 as members of our community celebrate Eid el Fitr. There should be no school events scheduled on this day.
Thursday, April 12 we will administer the Positive Community Norms survey to all students. Students will remain in their F block class. This survey is an important tool to help us understand our students perceptions of substance use. We use this data for a variety of educational purposes. A link will be sent to all students at the start of x-block. Please read the following instructions at the beginning of the time period.
We will have a faculty meeting on Thursday, April 11 in the library at 2:50pm. We will discuss the recent x-block surveys. If you have other agenda items please let me know.
Education Development Center (EDC) is looking for school staff to participate in a one-hour focus group to be held virtually on Wednesday, May 1 from 6-7 pm. We invite participation from teachers, administrators, health/wellness staff, counselors, nurses, and any other staff member who is interested in the topic of digital wellness. The questions asked during the focus groups will help EDC to understand how educators view girls’ digital media use, including the challenges and benefits in and outside of the school building, and what they think schools could do to minimize harms of digital media use and promote digital wellness. The school staff group will be led by EDC staff. Participants will not be asked to share any identifiable information or their personal stories, and everything discussed during the group will remain confidential. Participants will receive a $25 Amazon gift card to thank them for their participation. If you are interested in participating, please email Jen Taylor (jtaylor@ashland.k12.ma.us) by April 15. Thank you for considering this opportunity!
