Good morning-

Happy Semester 2! We have a busy few weeks coming up. Please let us know if you need help with anything. 

Grades for Term 2 are due on Thursday, February 1 at 8:30am. Check your iPass set up to make sure you have the proper percentages set up. Midyear's should count for 5% of the grade for a full year course. Run a grade verification report that includes your Term 2 and midyear examination grade. Submit it to the office once your grades are complete and you have checked it for accuracy.

Attached is the updated Lunch schedule for Semester 2 along with the February menu.

Please review your duty schedules for Semester 2 and reach out if you have questions.

Course selection for teachers will be open until Friday, February 9. Thank you to all of the teachers who are showcasing their elective offerings next week during X-block. As you mark your calendars for class meetings the week of February 12 please note that some meetings may go beyond the X-block time period. 

Spend some time today and this week to reset classroom expectations. It is an expectation that all staff use SecurlyPass (formerly eHallpass) for student passes. This is an important tool to assist us with tracking student's whereabouts and safety. If you have questions about how to effectively use this tool in a way that is least disruptive to your classroom, please let us know. 

Friday is our 3rd annual Flag Day Ceremony. The CARES team and Cultural Student Union have also planned a cultural week.  The modified February 2 schedule is attached and the schedule for the week is as follows:

Monday: Dress in the colors of your flag
Tuesday: Sports Jerseys
Wednesday: Cultural Jewelry & Shoes
Thursday: Flag Color Ribbons distributed in the morning
Friday (Flag Day) dress in your school colors


Signs of Suicide Program: Our counseling and wellness staff will be administering the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program beginning Monday, February 5 through Wednesday, February 7 to all members of the sophomore class. 

Through the program, students learn: 

  • that depression is treatable, so they are encouraged to seek help  

  • how to identify depression and potential suicide risk in themselves or a friend 

  • to ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult) if concerned about themselves or a friend 

  • who they can turn to at school for help, if they need it  

Students will watch age-appropriate video clips and participate in a guided discussion about depression, suicide, and what to do if they are concerned about a friend. Following the video, students will complete a brief depression screening tool. Based on the screening tool students may be pulled for assessment by a counselor later in the day. Please watch for any signs of distress from students and call the counseling office if needed. The office will be closed for regular student access and students will be directed to nursing. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding of possible classroom interruptions. 

I encourage you to visit www.sossignsofsuicide.org/parent for information on warning signs for youth suicide, useful resources, and some of the key messages students will learn. 


The Clocker Classic is back! Please join us in a fun faculty and staff basketball game with AMS/Mindess vs. AHS/Warren! The game will be held March 7th at 6PM at Ashland High School. Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms & mother figures out there- Best of luck to the special athletes competing in the 5-Town Special Olympics today!  I apologize for the late notice, but we will do a class meeting with the juniors/prom attendees on Tuesday, May 13, and the seniors on Wednesday, May 14, during x-block. Please send your second block seniors to the auditorium, as we are not able to make announcements on 5/14.  Art Saves Ashland, which includes the student art show, as well as the Spring Choral Concert, are happening back to back on Thursday, May 15, starting at 4pm.  The concert is at 7pm in the auditorium. Good morning- I hope the adjustment to the clocks springing forward hasn't thrown you off too much. I love that it means more light in the afternoon/evening.  On Thursday, March 13 year 2/3 teachers from Milford and Nipmuc High Schools will be here for learning walks. I have shared a schedule with impacted teachers but it may change over the next few days. Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to welcome new educators.  I am sure you saw Jim's message that the School Committee will hear our proposal on Competency Determination for the Class of 2025 at their meeting on Wednesday, March 12. I hope to share an update at our faculty meeting on Thursday, March 13, after school in the library . The meeting will involve MCAS training. As you are aware, the state has moved to a new portal so it will be important information for everyone to hear. Training for staff that do not attend faculty meetings will be scheduled at another time. Following the training, we will be walking...
