Good morning-
Many of you may have already heard this but I am excited to share that Brenda Iannarilli has graciously agreed to serve as the math substitute until Chas Alberts returns from leave. We are very grateful to her and the special education department for lending her for the month.
Kudos to AHSTS on their performance of Mamma Mia this weekend. It was great to be back in the theater for a musical and so fun to see so many staff members and alumni in the audience. Bravo to David, the cast and crew!
A reminder that this Wednesday, March 8 we will host a Red Cross blood drive. The student list of donors will be shared Wednesday morning.
Our next Faculty meeting is this Thursday, March 9. We will meet in the library at 2:50pm. Our primary focus will be reviewing the MCAS training. If you have an agenda item to share please let me know. ELA MCAS is scheduled for March 28-29.
On Monday, March 27 we will welcome 39 students from Toshimagaoka Secondary School in Japan. We worked with this exchange program pre-Covid and are excited to welcome them back. Students have been asked to volunteer to pair with a student or two. I will send you a list of buddies the week before.
If you have a moment, please review the request from a local principal and take his survey if you can.
I am writing to you today as a doctoral candidate in the Leadership Studies program at the University of the Cumberlands. My dissertation examines the relationship between authentic leadership and instructional innovation, particularly factors that influence educators' willingness and ability to advance their instructional practice.
I am writing to request your help with promulgating my survey instrument, which is intended for any certified secondary educators to complete. It should take only about 10 minutes to complete, which includes reading the informed consent at the start of the survey. The results are completely anonymous and confidential, as no personally identifiable information is requested. This study has been authorized by the Institutional Review Board at the University of the Cumberlands, with explicit permission granted through the superintendent of your school district.
I am asking that you forward this to your respective staffs and, if possible, providing them with the 10-15 minutes it will take to complete the survey. If you could also share with any other school leaders in your districts, if applicable, who can share with their respective staffs, that would be most appreciated as well. Please note that the target population for this survey is secondary educators, so middle and high schools in particular.
The link to the survey can be found by clicking here or by pasting the following link into the browser's address bar:
Thank you again for your support and collegiality.
Warmly,
Mike Rubin
