Good morning-

Happy February! Hope you all survived the cold this weekend. It was fun to see many of you with kids at Jump for Joy yesterday. I am sure there were some good naps Sunday afternoon.

The window for course recommendations will close for teachers on Friday, February 10. Please let us know if you need assistance.

Our faculty meeting will be in the library on Thursday, February 9. The agenda is attached here

Last week we implemented lunchtime senior privileges for any student with a study hall during their lunch block. The office will share a list of seniors with privileges with study hall teachers.

Signs of Suicide Program: Our counseling and wellness staff will be administering the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program Monday through Wednesday to all members of the sophomore class.

Through the program, students learn:

  • that depression is treatable, so they are encouraged to seek help

  • how to identify depression and potential suicide risk in themselves or a friend

  • to ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult) if concerned about themselves or a friend

  • who they can turn to at school for help, if they need it

Students will watch age-appropriate video clips and participate in a guided discussion about depression, suicide, and what to do if they are concerned about a friend. Following the video, students will complete a brief depression screening tool. Based on the screening tool students may be pulled for assessment by a counselor later in the day. Please watch for any signs of distress from students and call the counseling office if needed. The office will be closed for regular student access and students will be directed to nursing. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding of possible classroom interruptions.

I encourage you to visit www.sossignsofsuicide.org/parent for information on warning signs for youth suicide, useful resources, and some of the key messages students will learn.

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
