Good morning-
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Happy Halloween!
The Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, November 2 in the AHS gym.
I will be out of the building all day Thursday as well as Friday morning for professional development.
We will not have a faculty meeting on November 10 and will meet instead on November 17. Please plan accordingly.
Please remember that students are meant to stay in their assigned x-block space for the entire time. Do not send them to other classrooms or the library
It is important that all staff use eHallpass when sending students out of class or making an appointment for them to visit. We use this information to help track students, in some cases for safety reasons. This was one of the areas of concern observed during the lockdown drill. We could not account for all students because passes were not all provided through eHallpass.
- We will maintain 50 as the lowest grade a student can receive.
- If you have a student earning a grade that is significantly lower please have a conversation with the counselor ASAP.
- If you have a student failing your class please make sure you have contacted the parent by phone or email. Let the counselor know as well.
- For your planning purposes, grades will be due on Wendesday, November 16 at 9am
Here are some resources for working with students who are English learners:
The MA Blueprint for English Language Learners.
WIDA Professional Development WIDA professional development provides great information and strategies to support multilingual learners in Massachusetts public schools, and WIDA PDPs satisfy educator licensure renewal requirements. These DESE Sponsored courses are available at no cost to participants and are perfect for teams of teachers seeking impactful collaboration to support students' access to rigorous course content.
FYI: On November 10 I will be transitioning to a new format for newsletters. If you have information to be shared with the community please be sure to share anything with me by Thursday of each week.
