Good morning-

Happy Valentine's Day (which I am sure will mean lots of flowers, gifts, and candy in your classrooms) and last week before vacation. I am so grateful for the support and care you all showed me this past week.  Thank you so much for the thoughtfulness. Scott, Anna and I appreciate you all so much,

As a reminder, this is the last week for you to enter course recommendations. X-block is a great opportunity to schedule students to discuss your recommendations. Department meetings are scheduled for this week. Please let us know if you'd like one of us to join your meeting for anything.

Class meetings are being held this week to review the course recommendation process with students. The meetings will be held during X-block. We will dismiss each class with about 5 minutes left of 2nd period. Hopefully we can be efficient and move through the information quickly. I will apologize now for possibly taking up some time in 3rd period if needed.
2/14- junior class meeting
2/15- sophomore class meeting
2/16- freshman class meeting

I have approved a few fundraisers recently that I should not have allowed. As a reminder, the wellness policy does not allow groups to sell candy or any food during school, especially during lunch. I am out of practice at reminding you of this! Moving forward, please do not propose any fundraisers that involve selling food during the school day. Thanks!

Recently, we received grant funding to join JED High School, a public health, systematic approach that helps schools to assess and strengthen their policies, programs, and systems to equitably support emotional well-being and suicide prevention for all students.

JED High School is an 18 to 24-month program designed to help schools assess and enhance their efforts in the following key areas: developing life skills, promoting social connectedness and positive school climate, increasing help-seeking behaviors, recognizing and responding to students at risk, promoting well-being and access to mental health services, following crisis management procedures, and creating a safe environment.

The first part of the program is to develop an interdisciplinary team whose members represent the entire high school community. The team helps to establish our baseline data and is comprised of faculty members, students, parents, and other interested community members. If you are willing to participate, please complete this interest form. We need representation across departments as well as clubs & activities.

Have a wonderful week!

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
