Good evening/morning and happy last week of school! It's pretty exciting to finally be here. You have all been so impressive this year. I hope this summer brings time for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Thank you so much for your commitment to the students of AHS.
Lunch on Monday is provided courtesy of the PTO!
Grades close Wednesday, June 16 at 11:20am. Please take the time to calculate the Final grade for your classes. Run a grade verification to double check all grades are in and accurate. People who use Pass/Fail should check that the letter grade is in both windows (T4 & Final).
Faculty meeting/Sunshine fun celebration: We will meet in the library at 11:30am for a very brief end of the year meeting/celebration.
Summer building hours: Summer hours begin on Thursday. The building will be open from 8am-2:45pm.
Summer orientation/leadership meetings: We will hold orientation for 9th and 10th grade students this years as well as our Leadership Summit and Peer Leader training. Please ask your club/activity/sports leaders to watch for a Save the Date email from me this week. We welcome staff participation in any of these events. I will send the dates in a separate email.
Calendar of events for 2021-2022: Please try to get your events entered on the list at Linda's desk prior to leaving for the summer.
We will be working with the Anti-Defamation League and their World of Difference program this coming year. If you are interested in this summer training please let me know.

As this school year comes to a close, the IT Department wanted to check in with staff on a few items:1. We encourage teachers/ESP's to bring their school issued laptops or chromebooks home with them for the summer. We ask that laptops/chromebooks not be left in the classrooms. If you do not want your laptop for the summer, you may drop it off at the IT Office directly - please do not leave it at your school! Be advised that you will be responsible for the laptop if it is lost or stolen. If your employment status changes over the summer, please return your laptop to the IT Office.
2. We ask that you run windows updates before you leave for the summer and again periodically over the summer to keep your operating system up-to-date.
3. If you have any old technology equipment in your room that you would like removed permanently, please put in a Schooldude with a request to remove the equipment. Please leave a note on the equipment so we know exactly what to take and leave it in a place we can easily find. We will be going around to collect any unwanted equipment as soon as school ends, hopefully before custodians enter the classrooms to clean.
4. If you are searching out new apps to use with students for next year, please read any privacy policies to make sure they are COPPA compliant before asking us to enable them for students. We had many instances this past year of apps that were not COPPA compliant, especially for our students younger than 13. We will not be able to enable any apps that do not meet this requirement. Any use of paid apps must be approved and funded by your building principal. If you have questions about a particular app, please use Schooldude to ask IT to take a look.
5. Please remind your students to take care of their chromebooks over the summer, and that they will be responsible if they are broken, lost or stolen. If they have issues, they should report them using the Chromebook Service Request Form located on the APS website and IT will be in touch with them.
