Happy New Year and welcome back!

I hope you had time to rest and regenerate over the break. I look forward to seeing you all in person. I know you also most likely did a lot of work.  As we return to the building please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you.

We have had many families complete the out of state/country student travel form. Those students will be out of school until they have a negative PCR test or quarantine for 14 days. Hopefully the students are letting you know the dates they are out as well. They should work with you to either join the class remotely if you livestream or to otherwise make up their work. If you hear of students who have recently traveled please let us know so we can make sure the policy is being followed.

If you are an advisor for a club or activity please complete the attached In-person club/activity information form. Athletics are starting indoors Monday and we will explore the option of other groups meeting in the building after school.

Pictures are in your mailbox. Please distribute them to your A block class this week. Retakes are scheduled for February 4 and 9. Thanks!

We will be starting the process for scheduling 2021-2022 soon. Please see the timeline here. The window for you to make recommendations in iPass will open on January 19.

iTeacher Quickstart Guide for Course Recommendations

As we kick off the new year here is a reminder of upcoming meetings:
Faculty meeting 1/14/21 at 3pm
Professional Development 1/15/21 8am-2:35pm
No school/MLK Day 1/18/21
Department meetings 1/28/21 TBD by liaison

I sent the following reminders to students today and wanted to share them with you:
A few reminders as we head back to the building:
Make sure you have your well-fitting masks ready to go as we head back to the building. Students who do not wear their mask properly will be sent home.

The district has a travel policy. If you traveled out of state or country with your family this break please make sure you are following the expectations to stay home until you are tested 5 days after your return or you have quarantined for 14 days. Make sure to reach out to your teachers to see how to go about staying up to date with your classes.

Attendance is taken each day so we know who is physically in the building. If you are home for a day your cohort is in school you will be marked absent. There is no consequence for this however. We appreciate students who are staying home because they are not feeling well, have been in a large group, or have traveled.

Please adhere to the lunch expectations. You must be in the cafeteria or gym, in one seat, with your mask on unless you are eating. Please  sign-in to your seat at lunch each day. We know that lunch is difficult and you'd rather be sitting in close groups with your friends. We'll get there but that just can't happen right now. This is an area we need to do a better job at. Students who can not abide by this expectation will be sent home.

Check for signs and arrows and make sure you are using the one-way hallways between classes. If you are heading somewhere during class you do not have to use the one-way directions.

Wear a warm jacket and appropriate footwear to school! Many teachers will continue to take outdoor mask breaks. It's a great way to stretch your legs and chat with classmates and/or your teacher.

Bring your Chromebook every day. If you have an issue with your Chromebook please fill out the request for assistance form on the website and we have loaners available in the main office. Let us know how we can help you. Our IT department works to make sure all of the technology that is accessible is safe for students

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions or need assistance with anything!

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms & mother figures out there- Best of luck to the special athletes competing in the 5-Town Special Olympics today!  I apologize for the late notice, but we will do a class meeting with the juniors/prom attendees on Tuesday, May 13, and the seniors on Wednesday, May 14, during x-block. Good morning- I hope the adjustment to the clocks springing forward hasn't thrown you off too much. I love that it means more light in the afternoon/evening.  On Thursday, March 13 year 2/3 teachers from Milford and Nipmuc High Schools will be here for learning walks. I have shared a schedule with impacted teachers but it may change over the next few days. Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to welcome new educators.  I am sure you saw Jim's message that the School Committee will hear our proposal on Competency Determination for the Class of 2025 at their meeting on Wednesday, March 12. I hope to share an update at our faculty meeting on Thursday, March 13, after school in the library . The meeting will involve MCAS training. As you are aware, the state has moved to a new portal so it will be important information for everyone to hear. Training for staff that do not attend faculty meetings will be scheduled at another time. Following the training, we will be walking...
