Good evening-
I wish you all the best as we start Term 2. I know you are looking forward to meeting your new students. I continue to be grateful for you and the work you are doing with our students. It is so hard. Please don't hesitate to reach out to counselors if you feel a student is not placed correctly in your class. Administration is here for anything we can do to support you.

If you saw Jim's email you know we had two new positive cases at AHS this weekend. We are lucky to work for a district that is willing to be so transparent. We also need to respect student and staff confidentiality. Please remember that I will reach out if there is a student in your class who was in school and tests positive. With those cases you are not considered a close contact of any student as long as you are abiding by our expectations of mask wearing and social distancing. The situation still brings anxiety for us all. I recognize that and we aim to support you in every way possible. At this time the town does not have available test kits for any teachers that have had a positive student (after the tests that are scheduled for tomorrow morning). If you are notified you had a student in your class and would like to get tested you are welcome to go to the TJX testing site and we get coverage for your class. Please reach out to me if you are looking to do this.

Congratulations to Stephen Marks and the entire athletic department on a great fall season. You all did an amazing job providing opportunity to play for our students.

Wednesday, November 25 schedule:
Classes should meet following the regular schedule. Teacher hours are 8:45-11:45am.

News from the Marshquist family: Svea Serena Marshquist was born Friday, November 6th, at 8 lbs., 13 oz. and 21" long. All are doing well! Those are some proud and loving big brothers. Congratulations!!

Have a wonderful week!

See below for PD from EdPuzzle:
  • Here's the link to our Self-paced Online PD Courses
    • Teachers would just sign up for the course, and use the class code they're given to create a student account on Edpuzzle.com (you can use your same Ashland Google login to create a teacher and student account, FYI).
    • We highly recommend assigning a few teachers on campus to complete the "Edpuzzle Coach" course as well to be local gurus.
  • Edpuzzle & Google Classroom Level 1 certification course.
    • This is a new course from just a few weeks ago – It's about 40 minutes, and is perfect for anyone that needs help getting started!
    • We strongly encourage all teachers at the school to obtain this certification.
All of our self-paced certification courses have questions already embedded and skipping is prevented, so at the end of the course, teachers can download a certification with total time spent, and earn a fun badge!

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
