Hi all-
This email originally started with I hope you had a good weekend but was still in my drafts. I can see now why a few of you didn't know what I was referring to during some check-in's this week. Please don't ever hesitate to say "we didn't get the email you are referencing...."
Last Thursday I met with the department liaisons to further discuss assessment practices during remote learning. Now that we know we are out for the remainder of the school year it will be important to report our assessment of students in a consistent format. This is for the benefit of students and parents. Starting this week please use iPass to record assignments and your assessment of completion of/participation in the assignment. After much discussion on what would work best we agreed to use the following scale, which I shared with parents on Friday:
Attached is a document that is still in DRAFT form regarding grading, transcripts, GPA, etc. It has been shared with department liaisons and site council for feedback. I will share a pared down document with students and families tomorrow.
AHS Assessment of Learning Practices
Here is the new Student Wellness Survey. Please use this document to record any student concerns you had for the week of April 27-30. Each building will be sending this out on Thursday afternoon for the time being. Please add students who you have not had any contact with or that were engaged and have now dropped off.
4/27-4/30/20 Student Wellness/Participation Survey
Thank you to all the staff who helped with sign distribution last Friday. The seniors were so excited when they woke up in time for our 1pm meeting and saw them. ;) A huge shout out to Linda Chaney for creating the Class of 2020 map to help us form groups of students and make our way around town logically.
Here's an album with some of the pictures from the morning.
AHS Loves the Class of 2020
At our last class meeting the students discussed their feelings about the "post your high school picture to support a senior" and they didn't love it. They did think it would be fun to see our pictures though.
Thanks To Erin for creating the slideshow of AHS staff senior pics.
As we get ready to go through the rest of the year please remember to be kind to yourself.

1- assignment completed
0.5- assignment partially completed, student can revise/redo using teacher feedback for growth
0- assignment not completed, student can pass in at any time
Your assignments should be entered into iPass at least every two weeks, as per the current contract. You can and should continue to give feedback to students through Google Classroom, email, etc. You are doing a great job engaging with students. This is just a measure to helps students, families, and other AHS personnel track student participation in learning.Attached is a document that is still in DRAFT form regarding grading, transcripts, GPA, etc. It has been shared with department liaisons and site council for feedback.
