Good evening-

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. It was certainly a fun-filled weekend of AHS activities. Great to see so many of you at the football game, the play and the Robot Rodeo. All of those kids have so much to be proud of.

As you think about the amazing things our AHS students have accomplished this year please take a moment to answer this brief survey question. The Portrait of a Graduate survey committee thanks you!
Portrait of a Graduate survey

As we close out the week please reach out directly, by phone is best, to guardians of students who are struggling. Report cards should not be the first time they see grades and we can not count on all families using iParent. Thank you.

eHallpass.....
I am still waiting to have everyone uploaded into system. As we get ready to have all staff members using eHallpass please review your pass expectations with students. I encourage you to set clear guidelines regarding leaving the classroom. You have the authority to limit when students leave. Please exercise discretion and help students learn to use breaks for a break.

If you have not completed this yet, please take time to review the attached PowerPoint and complete the activities included: Equity in Learning- please complete the learning activities embedded in the presentation by Friday, November 8 (it was originally supposed to be completed by September 30). Print the certificate and turn it in to the front office.  Thank you!

November 8 Professional Development:
All faculty members will participate in ongoing work with your identified working groups.
In addition, we will be offering PD on college recommendation letter writing and training on working with students diagnosed with Tourette's (some staff members are required to attend this training). Stay tuned for information from Cory McGann and Deena Levallee on those workshops. All others should plan to meet in the same spaces as last time. I will send guiding questions, topics, and other relevant information out to groups later in the week.

Save the Date! The annual holiday celebration will be on Friday, December 6 at 3:30pm at Owen O'Leary's in Southborough (Rt. 9).

A message from Decisions at Every Turn:
On Friday you received a small card in your mailbox from the STAND campaign. This card consists of the current STAND message and image on one side, and some questions to encourage discussion about the message on the other. These are intended to foster conversations between students, but we encourage you to use them with students if an opportunity for conversation comes up.
In addition, the STAND campaign has prepared a short form that we are hoping you will use to provide any feedback that you may hear about the STAND campaign, including any anonymized student interactions with or about the cards or posters. Responses from the form will go through Google to Saumya Sankhavaram, DAET Coordinator. Responses to the form are optional - the form is anonymous, and will not be publicized or distributed in any way. Any feedback that you can offer would be much appreciated, and please feel free to use the form to suggest or request additional resources

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
