Good afternoon-

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend.

We have our first faculty meeting this week on Thursday.  The agenda is attached.  The AEFI will be here, along with representatives from the corporate sponsors who helped fund the Ashland Innovation Center, to do a ribbon cutting ceremony.  We will start in the AIC and then move to the library for the remainder of our meeting after the ceremony.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 12.  All students and staff must have their picture taken for ID purposes.  Please let us know if you need coverage to get to the gym.

You should have received information on who your evaluator is by now.  If not, please check in with Mrs Chaney.  You should be working on your self-assessment and formulating goals.

Start With Hello Week is September 24-28.  Think about doing a few of these suggestions.  We will have all school events happening throughout the week.
• Language classes or clubs could teach other students how to say “hello” in different languages.
• Art classes could create Start With Hello posters that can be displayed around the school. Encourage students to submit their art work as part of the Start With Hello Student Voices contest.
• Music or drama classes to perform a song, rap or skit during Start With Hello that incorporates the lessons of Start With Hello.
 • Look for ways to pair students together, such as group projects or learning or homework assignments.
• Various groups– band, choir, cheerleaders, drama club, etc. – could do special performances reinforcing Start With Hello.
 • Involve and encourage staff and youth leaders to incorporate and model Start With Hello key messages, stories and activities into extracurricular activities during Start With Hello Week, such as messages from coaches, band instructors, drama teachers, student council, national honor society and other student clubs.
• Consider changing seating charts in the classroom or during lunch to give students a chance to meet and talk to someone new.

Here's a few articles I found interesting this week.  They are just food for thought:

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good afternoon- I hope you have been able to dig out from the storm. Tomorrow is sure to be a little chaotic, and I fully predict we will have students who don't understand the exam schedule changes and families who may keep their students home. We will need to be flexible! Stay warm! Here is the schedule for tomorrow:  G block exam: 10:30 am- 12 pm Lunch: 1st (12:05-12:35) - English, math, & science             2nd (12:40-1:10) - history, world language, unified arts, special education, ELL & wellness Students will need to be asked to remain in their class for first lunch and return to the class they were testing in for second lunch. We will do our best with this but are not going to stress about kids being elsewhere. We have no way of knowing how many G block students are staying for A block.  A block exam: 1:15 pm- 2:45 pm Along with the updated midyear exam schedule .  Grades for Term 2 will close on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a...
