Good evening-
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. My heart is heavy thinking of the Stoughton community today. What they are facing is one of my worst nightmares and my thoughts and prayers go out to them. I know many of you join me in feeling the stress of the next couple weeks as we worry about student safety while they enjoy graduation and the celebrations that come with it.
It's a big week at AHS with senior finals and our NEASC Collaborative Conference.
We still need teachers to join the interview group at 10:55am. We are looking for a member of the Math, Science, World Language and Unified Arts departments.
The following students will be joining the Student Focus group at 9:35am. I will update the list by the end of the day on Monday as more students confirm and will clearly be recruiting some young men.
Senior Week coverage schedule-
Please check the schedule, shared by Erin in GoogleDocs, as updates might be made.
Senior Core Value Cords-
The PBIS & Scholarship Committees will meet Monday afternoon at 2:50pm to determine the seniors receiving graduation cords. Don't forget to get your votes in on the GoogleDoc shared by Lisa Dunn on behalf of the PBIS team.
Senior Grades-
Grades will open for seniors Monday morning and will close Tuesday, May 29 at 3pm. Senior teachers, please be sure to check your grade verification sheets carefully as you close your grades. Please let Tina Hunter know if you have any grading issues.
Senior Week begins Tuesday, May 29. If you teach mostly seniors please take a look at your schedule and let Ms. Lachapelle your availability to help out at Community Service Day as well

As you may remember last spring a letter was sent out from Superintendent Adams regarding the series "Thirteen Reasons Why". If you are not aware, Season 2 of the series has been released by Netflix on Friday, May 18. Season One quickly went viral, especially among adolescents, and dealt with intense topics including sexual assault and suicide. The second season is believed to have similar themes which could be disturbing to some youth.
Please remember that if your child has questions, they should always feel able to talk to the support personnel we have in our schools. Guidance Counselors, School Psychologists, Adjustment Counselors, teachers, administration, and any trusted adult in the building are always available to students.
The National Association of School Psychologists and others have created several helpful guides which I have linked here, including a guide for educators:
