Good morning,

I hope you all had a great weekend.  I know many of you spent it grading mid-terms and finalizing term grades.  As a reminder, the grading window will close on Wednesday at 3pm.  Report card grades will be shared with students on Friday at the end of the school day.

I am still waiting to hear from iPass regarding the issue with course selection and juniors.  Stay tuned for information.

Course registration timelines- See attached timeline
Once again, please review the timeline for course selection. Please remember to have conversations with students before making recommendations. Attached is the Teacher Guide to entering recommendations. Please reach out to your mentor, department liaison, or an administrator if you need assistance on entering recommendations.

Class meetings to review Course registration:
We will meet with the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors tomorrow (January 30) to review the process. Please wait for the class to be called down but here is the approximate schedule:
9th grade- 8:45am
10th grade- 9:25am
11th grade- 9:45am

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, February 28 from 6-8pm.  This is during the time-frame that the parent portal for course selection is open so parents wishing to discuss an override are encouraged to use this time for that purpose.

I have confirmed that we will be have Dana Farber/Jimmy Clinic present to the sophomore and senior classes on February 8 during D block.  Jake Silver, a member of the Class of 2018, is currently fighting a relapsed Osteosacrcoma.  His sister, Halle, is a sophomore.  Jake is facing intensive treatment and will be missing a considerable amount of the rest of the school year.  Dana Farber recommends speaking to students about what is happening and what Jake is facing and we have welcomed the idea.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

On Friday, February 2 WACA, the local cable station, will be setting up at the basketball game starting at 3:45pm to film a video wishing Jake well and letting him know we are all thinking of him.  I have asked if they can come earlier so that staff can be a part of the video and will keep you posted.

Congratulations to the Student of the Term winners for Term 2:

Respect - Noah Ben Maor
Responsibility - Kaitlin Merson
Integrity - Sam Schultz
Involvement - Halle Silver

Achievement - Sky Scott

Please take a minute to congratulate them when you see them.

Have a wonderful week!

Good afternoon- Thanks to everyone who helped to make New Student Orientation a success last night. It was great to see so many students and staff in the building. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. We start at 8AM in the auditorium. There will be some members of the Class of 2026 painting their parking spots on Monday afternoon. Please try to park in the faculty parking lot or in the back of the building if you usually park in the student section.  New staff, please join the staff  Google Classroom . All information sent to faculty/staff will be housed here. The  class code is a5ca6a4. The custodians have been working hard to make sure each classroom has the correct number of desks (minus study halls). There may be a few classrooms off a desk or two based on student moves at the end of this week. If anyone has furniture in their rooms that is not being used, please let me know. We are short some L-shaped desks, under-desk file cabinets, and bookcases....

Good morning- I hope the adjustment to the clocks springing forward hasn't thrown you off too much. I love that it means more light in the afternoon/evening.  On Thursday, March 13 year 2/3 teachers from Milford and Nipmuc High Schools will be here for learning walks. I have shared a schedule with impacted teachers but it may change over the next few days. Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to welcome new educators.  I am sure you saw Jim's message that the School Committee will hear our proposal on Competency Determination for the Class of 2025 at their meeting on Wednesday, March 12. I hope to share an update at our faculty meeting on Thursday, March 13, after school in the library . The meeting will involve MCAS training. As you are aware, the state has moved to a new portal so it will be important information for everyone to hear. Training for staff that do not attend faculty meetings will be scheduled at another time. Following the training, we will be walking...
