Good evening!
Hope you enjoyed the weekend, especially the beautiful, spring-like weather today. What a game- go Pats!
I spent some time this weekend getting the 2018-2019 school year set up and the course catalog rolled over. How are we already halfway there? I hope you have a great last day of Semester I and exam week. Thank you for working each and every day to educate the students at AHS. This year, more than ever, I have been so impressed with the thought each and every one of you gives to making sure our students are getting the best education, and that they are ready for whatever their future brings. You have been kind, compassionate, innovative, and creative. You are willing to try new things and bring new ideas to us every day. Thank you for being willing to collaborate with each other and with us in the front office. I am so glad to be a part of this team.
We will close the window for iParent/iStudent at the end of the day today (Monday) and will open the grading window. The grading window will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday, January 31. Report cards grades will be shared with students on Friday, February 2 at the end of the school day.
The course selection process for the 2018-2019 school year begins tomorrow. I love the creative ideas many of you have presented for courses next year!

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, February 28 from 6-8pm. This is during the time-frame that the parent portal for course selection is open so parents wishing to discuss an override are encouraged to use this time for that purpose.
I have confirmed that we will be have Dana Farber/Jimmy Clinic present to the sophomore and senior classes on February 8 during D block. Jake Silver, a member of the Class of 2018, is currently fighting a relapsed Osteosacrcoma. His sister, Halle, is a sophomore. Jake is facing intensive treatment and will be missing a considerable amount of the rest of the school year. Dana Farber recommends speaking to students about what is happening and what Jake is facing and we have welcomed the idea. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful week!
