Happy Monday- I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend filled with family and friends.  Thank you for making Ashland such an fabulous community to work for.  I am truly grateful to work with colleagues who are caring and thoughtful. I will send a list by the end of the day tomorrow of the students participating in Challenge Day.  Thank you for supporting this day and for recognizing it's importance.  Participating students and staff are in for a special and powerful day.  I look forward to seeing how they take what they learn and pay it forward to the whole school community. Good evening and happy Sunday! I am writing to you from a not so sunny Orlando but I am feeling beyond lucky to be spending this long weekend with the amazing Ashland High School students who are here. I have watched example after example of the kids learning what service is all about and how lucky they are in their lives back in Ashland. We have met so many strong families who were impressed by the character and commitment of these students. They have assignments that involve reflecting and finding ways to showcase their experience. I hope to be able to share some of that with all of you. Here are some pictures of the weekend. GKTW Album As principal, I consider my role to be one of service. I am at Ashland High School to help make it a better learning environment for the students and to provide you with the tools and supports you need. It has been a challenging first term for many of us at AHS and I hope you know that we, as an administration, are all on the same page in w...

Good evening- I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I topped mine off this afternoon enjoying the AHSTS performance of Museum.  What fun!  I am always blown away by the talent in this group and this play showcased so many students. As you know, Monday, November 6 is the end of Term 1. The grading window will open at 3pm Monday.  The window will remain open until Monday, November 13 at noon.   Our original report card date was posted as the afternoon of 11/13 but I have pushed it back to 11/14. I am so honored to be heading off once again on Wednesday with thirty members of the Make-A-Wish Club to volunteer at Give Kids the World .  The students attending the trip were chosen last spring from the interested students because of their commitment to service.  The students were chosen because they did the most hours of service and while in Orlando they will be doing more volunteer shifts this year than any of the prior trips. If you can, find an opportunit...
