Happy Labor Day! I hope you are all enjoying a great long weekend. Thank you all for a great start to the 2017-2018 school year. You work so hard and I hope you know how much I appreciate all of you. It was fantastic to see the positive energy throughout the building. Lauren, Erin, & I enjoyed getting pictures (and taking our own) of all of the #1st3days activities going on around the building.
The district and town is collecting money for the needs of those in Houston affected by Hurrican Harvey. If you would like to donate there will be an envelope in the main office this week until Friday morning. The Town Hall will coordinate sending the donations from the employees of the Town of Ashland.
A reminder that all faculty should have a parking sticker, placed on the back of your rear-view mirror. Officer Muri will be checking cars frequently, especially in the student lot, so please get a sticker to avoid a ticket. If you have traditionally parked in the back of the school you will want to consider parking elsewhere. Athletic buses will be parking there at 2:45pm many days and will block in cars until they are ready to leave. We need to do this to get them out of the line of traffic at pick-up time.
Class meetings will be held this week on Wednesday. Please escort your class to the meeting and help students get seated quickly and quietly in the front of the auditorium. Most meetings are not likely to last a full 30 minutes, other than the senior class meeting. Please wait until the meeting is announced before bringing students to the auditorium.
Convocation Day is Friday. The PBIS team will send out directions early this week. This is an opportunity for us to get to know our students in a different way and to have great conversations about our Core Values and building expectations. Peer Leaders will be helping to run the activity but please get involved and set the example for involvement!
As I mentioned at our meeting this week our NEASC Decennial visit has been scheduled for March 1-4, 2020. As part of the process I need to appoint two NEASC Accreditation Coordinators to work with me and the entire staff to get ready to start the self-reflection process, which we will do this year. If you are interested or would like more information please let me know.
Our first faculty meeting of the year is next Thursday, September 14 at 7:10am in the library.
Please check out the attached link for evaluation timelines and mark your calendars with the important dates! We look forward to working collaboratively with you on this process as the year progresses. If you do not know who your evaluator will be this year, please let one of us know.
Please go back to the Menti.com survey at some point this week and enter code 11 93 63. There are several questions and many people only answered one.
Thank you and have a great week!
