Good morning and Happy New Year- I hope you had a wonderful break, filled with time to rest and spend quality time with those who bring you happiness.  As you prepare for the day, I hope you are excited to see our students and get them ready for the end of Term 2 and mid-year exams.  Today is an opportunity to reset your expectations if needed. It is the school-wide expectation that phones are in holders during all instructional time, including study hall and x-block. This can only work well if we all work together to be consistent. Thank you for your willingness to make this a team effort. We have a faculty meeting this Thursday, January 8, at 2:55pm. Please plan accordingly.  We have an all-staff professional day on Friday, January 16, 2026. Hours for the professional day at 8am-2:35pm. More information about assignments will be forthcoming.  All ESPs will meet in the DLL (room off the library) at 8am for training.  We are now 2 1/2 weeks away from midyear exa...

Good morning- We are just about there, and I hope you all have a great day and a half, followed by an amazing winter break. I am so grateful for the team of educators in this building. I hope the next two weeks are filled with special time with family and friends, as well as lots of rest and rejuvenation.  Below is the midyear exam schedule , as well as the  course registration timeline  for the 2026-2027 school year, for your planning purposes.  There were a couple of student groups in the building on Friday evening without adult supervision. Please remember that advisors should always be present for student events, especially when money is involved. If you are unable to attend an event, you can always ask a colleague or a parent to supervise on your behalf.  The building will be open for vacation hours (8am-2:45pm) during the break, and there will be limited access to the main office. I will be in, but have not determined which days.  Please let me know i...

Happy Monday- Just 6 1/2 days to go. We've got this! It was great to see so many of you at the Sunshine Fund celebration on Friday. This Friday morning, the administration will host a holiday breakfast in the kitchen. I hope to have it ready by 7:45 AM.  On days like today, I can't help but think how grateful I am to work with such amazing, caring colleagues.  I struggled this weekend, watching what was happening at Brown and remembering the awful events of Sandy Hook. Thank you for always going above and beyond to keep our students safe.  Nick Tucker shared this  Feedback Form . He'd love to hear your thoughts on his presentation. I am again thankful that you allow us to provide our students with different educational experiences, such as speakers who share their message. I know his talk resonated with many of the students.  Thursday is a curriculum meeting day. Everyone should plan to continue with curriculum work, either by updating current maps or developing...

Good morning- Thanks for all your assistance with the DESE visit last week.  As a reminder, we will have an all-school assembly on Thursday, December 11, in the gym. Classes will be called to the gym by subject area. Please have students leave their bags and phones in the classroom. Nick speaks for approximately 45 minutes, then has time for questions. Students will be able to speak to him after his presentation, so we will monitor who stays to speak to him during x-block. The APS Safety Committee meets on Thursday at AHS, so there will be a variety of guests in the building.  We also have a faculty meeting on Thursday afternoon. Please let me know if you have anything to share. Here is the exam schedule for mid-years . Please let us know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful week!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am enjoying time with our Make-A-Wish club students as they volunteer at Give Kids the World. I will return on Thursday, after a personal/bereavement day on Wednesday.  I feel like this reminder was just sent, but it takes all of us to be consistent with the rules around phones. Please enforce the school-wide expectation in your classroom as a way to support one another. Phones should be put in the holders during all instructional time, including x-block. We need to be a united front on this. If you observe a student with a phone, please refer to the handbook for the progressive discipline expectations and document it in iPass. The MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey will be administered on Wednesday, November 19. Students have been reminded to bring their Chromebooks. Not to contradict the message above, but if they do not have their Chromebook, they can use their phone to complete the survey. It is expected that they will have th...
